How we work

The name comes from the Gipping, the river that runs down through the town — this is local work, done locally, at a scale where the person quoting the job is the person doing it.

The approach is simple and it is the reason this website is written the way it is:

• Look at the surface first. Material, age, joint condition, drainage and existing damage all change the plan.
• Use the right method. Sometimes that is a rotary surface cleaner at a firm setting. Sometimes it is low pressure and a treatment left to work.
• Explain what is involved. Including the parts people are not told: why joints empty out, why black spot is stubborn, why sealing needs dry weather.
• Quote clearly. Cleaning, re-sanding and sealing priced as separate lines so nothing is buried.
• Avoid unnecessary extras. If your patio does not need sealing, we would rather say so than sell it.
• Leave you understanding what has been done. What was cleaned, what was treated, what to expect over the next year.

What we will not do

We will not promise a twenty-year-old patio will look brand new, guarantee that every mark disappears, or turn up with the pressure at maximum because it is quicker. Those shortcuts are how surfaces get damaged, and the damage tends to show up long after the invoice is paid.
